Artist: Lila Copeland (American, born Rochester, NY, 1912 - ). Lila Copeland was born in Rochester, NY, in 1912 but spent most of her life in New York City and Woodstock, NY. She studied at the Pratt Institute and the Art Studies League of New York. Copeland was known for her Impressionist figure mother and child imagery. She has shown worldwide, from the Whitney in New York City to the British Museum in London (Rochester Institute of Technology).

Signed, Titled, and Numbered in pencil on bottom margin:  a/p [Artists Proof]; Stephen Peeing;  Lila Copeland. The inscriptions are apparently made by artist's hand. Both gallery's and artist's labels verso.
