Titled Judge Huff at the Court Square Tavern Charlottesville. Va, Dated Jan 29, 1980, and Signed J. Middleton F. 1980. Annotated: "When I can afford it, I'll buy it." I didn't give him a price either. Words visible under the layer of correction fluid: His comment on seeing it was complimentary, but typical "Charlottesville."
Dimensions: Sheet 11" x 8 1/2".
Date: 1980.
Materials and Techniques: ink and pen on laid paper.
Provenance: The Estate of George "Yorgo" Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute, and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan, from 1965-2000.

Notes: After a 12-year tenure with State Farm Insurance, Mr. Huff set up private practice in Charlottesville, becoming a prominent local attorney. He also served as a substitute Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Judge.
- Court Square Tavern is one of Downtown Charlottesville oldest establishments, located on the street level of the former Monticello Hotel in historic Court Square.
